Recently I have started using www.scoodi.com to keep an eye out for things that people in my area might be wanting to give away or sell cheap. Scoodi sends me a daily update of new items but only within a 20km radius of my address. This means that someone on my street might be wanting to give something away that I need and I will find out. Maybe even meet some new people in my local area.
Rach and I plan to do a clean up soon, so you might find some of our stuff on there soon. The site is a nice idea and worth checking out. Takes no time to register, and being a part of it just means scanning a very quick email each day.

Hi thanks, for the blog post.
This is exactly why we built Scoodi the way we did. It shouldn’t be a hastle to get rid of your stuff and it should be easy to find the stuff you need, when you need it.
As your local Scoodi community grows, we hope that you will see a kind of community inventory of stuff evolve. You get to use something for as long as you need it, then you put it back into circulation. It is a far more efficient way to use our natural resources.
We’re glad you like the site.
Richard

Hello Richard,
I am most glad that you commented and added to what I was trying to say. The inventory concept is awesome.
Keep up the great work.
I’m sorry to use your website for this, I can not get on to your site that was advertised on the tv tonight, channel 9. Could you please help me to join… regards Caz.
