A good friend of ours is having a great exhibition at an awesome space called substation4. (Sorry Adz, I should have done a post for you too, but didn’t think about it.) Unfortunately, opening night is invite only, but you can still check it out after, during these times:
Sat 28 & Sun 29…10am-4pm
Mon 30 – Fri Aug 3…8.30am-5pm
Read more about the exhibition here.
If you read map magazine as I do I hope you are reading the editors note. Carl always adds little gems but mostly for me it reminds me what map magazine is about before I get into it. This months note is particularly special. You can read it online if you like: mapmagazine.com.au
Check out this amazing web site that shows you visually the feelings of people around the world. It does this by reading weblogs looking for the term ‘I feel…’ then it adds the sentence to it’s database so that you can view it graphically. The effect is amazing and time consuming. I feel like it is going to be very interesting for you. There that should have added me to the database. wefeelfine.org

Thanks to Kim, one of our customers I can now tell you about 2 great web sites that are covering the latest news on Alternative Fuels in Australia and beyond.
And for a good example of the kinds of cool things that are going on in your back yard, check out Conservo. I bet you didn’t think alternative fuels had come this far in Australia. Not even I did, and I made my own Biodiesel for a while. The news is good!

One of my favourite quotes goes like this:
If money can fix it, then it is not a problem!
But when I think about breast cancer etc, the quote doesn’t hold so well. At a point you can make the quote work, and it sure does for a lot of things, but basically we need to pay to feed some brains as they try and work these things out for us. Here is one brain worth paying for: Eva Vertes. She has some of the leading theories on Cancer, and draws some unexpected conclusions.
But what is really important this time around for Urban Grind and Think Pink week, is that this year we are thinking of one of our fellow coffee lovers and regular Urban Grinders, that has just been diagnosed. I will keep who she is a secret, that is for her to tell you if she wishes, but there is a think pink box on our counter, and for the whole of this month all of the tips that you all so generously offer, normally to buy green energy will be donated to Think Pink.
Now that Sophie has been promoted we need to fill her position. Rachael has agreed to fill the job temporarily but we do need someone a.s.a.p. So, please if you know anyone that might be interested send them in to Urban Grind to pick up an application form or get them to download one from here.
